Principal's Message

August 2026 

Ayer Bear Nation, 

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year. As we start the new school year together on Monday, August 17, 2026, the staff at Ayer Elementary School looks forward to working with you and your child. Our Ayer staff strongly believes that the education of children is a partnership between the home and the school, and that parent 

involvement is crucial to the success of our students. Please mark Thursday, August 13th for Back to School Night, from 5:00pm-6:30pm in the cafeteria, where you will meet our staff and receive important information about the coming school year. 

The Ayer Elementary office will extend their hours on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, for registration. The office will be open through 7:00 PM. 

Class lists will be posted Thursday, August 13, 2026, on the cafeteria and/or office windows. These lists will indicate your child’s teacher and room number. No room changes will be made prior to Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Please note that due to the possible enrollment changes we may need to create or collapse classrooms. There is a possibility that your child may be moved to a different class. We will contact you if this occurs. 

Our district will be implementing an early release schedule on Tuesdays of a five-day school week for teacher professional development. Please visit our district website for calendar details: https://www.fresnounified.org/calendars/ 

Regular School Day Daily Schedule: 

Preschool

(AM Program) 7:50am to 10:50am 

(PM Program) 11:30am-2:30pm 

TK & Kindergarten 8:00am to 1:05pm 

Grades 1st – 6th 8:00am to 2:05pm 

Early Release School Day Daily Schedule: 

Preschool 

TK & Kindergarten 8:00am to 12:00pm 

Grades 1st – 6th 8:00am-1:00pm 

Parent conferences will be held during the week of October 26 - October 30, 2026 and dismissal will be 65 minutes prior to our regular dismissal. During parent conference week, our dismissal for students in grades TK & Kindergarten will be at 12:00 PM and 1st–6th will be at 1:00 PM each day to accommodate the parent conference schedule.
